Good health starts with great sleep
Sleep is foundational to good health. Thousands of Canadians struggle nightly with their sleep and most sleep disorders are severely underdiagnosed. Let’s work together to put poor sleep to rest!
About Insomnia
What is insomnia?
Insomnia is a behavioural sleep disorder that is characterized by difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, or waking up too early and not being able to fall back asleep. Itâs perpetuated by maladaptive thoughts and behaviours, which can be modified and improved using cognitive behavioural therapy. Insomnia can be acute or chronic, and it often overlaps other sleep disorders like obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). In fact, OSA and insomnia overlap in approximately a third of all cases.
